Connection & Relationship Challenges

At Authentically Living Psychological Services, PLLC, our clinicians specialize in working with individuals struggling with forming meaningful connections, with individuals struggling within their familial, platonic, and romantic relationships, and with those who would describe themselves as socially outcasted.

Let’s face it – we all yearn for unconditional connection and love. Experiencing such connection and love can be challenging. It requires openness, genuineness, vulnerability, trust, self-understanding, mutual respect, and the ability to assert and communicate needs effectively.

When we are not modeled or shown unconditional connection and love, and when we are confused by societal influences of what love and connection are, it is difficult for us, as beings to recognize connection and share connection in a way that is satisfying, mutual, genuine, and honest.

Those of us who struggle with connection may describe feeling disconnected and isolated. We may feel insecure in social settings and struggle to engage interpersonally in a way that feels genuine and natural. We may struggle with vulnerability, trust, and openness within relationships.

We may recognize a difficulty in relating to peers, in communicating needs and boundaries within family systems, and in finding a partner that is compatible. Our insecurities, modeled relationships, societal influences, and strong desire for connection may influence our relational style and impact the development of our relationships.

At Authentically Living Psychological Services, PLLC, we work with individuals to better understand areas of stuckness when it comes to relating and connecting. We work towards fostering self-esteem, sense of self, and in being able to identify, assert, and communicate relational needs. We work towards open connection within the therapeutic space, to allow for personal growth, a depth in intimacy, and in relational development. We further support our clients in learning how to tend to their relationships and works towards a deepening of intimacy and connection.
